In 2020-2021 Aelia olive oil was distinguished as a high phenolic extra virgin oil which makes it a premium olive oil with health claim. It was also certified by Cosmocert as an organic product.
In particular, the analysis of Aelia Olive Oil showed that the levels of oleocanthal are above the average of the samples of international sampling of olive oils. (from those included in the study conducted at the University of California, Davis)
The daily consumption of 20 g from the analysed sample provides 11.2 mg of tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol derivatives. Olive oils containing >5 mg per 20 g belong to the category of oils that protect against oxidation of blood lipids. (in accordance with Regulation 432/2012 of the European Union)
It is noted that Oleocanthal and Oleacin present important biological effect and have been related with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardioprotective and neuroprotective properties.
